Enthusiasms

Here is a combination of my two latest enthusiasms! My penchant for making little machinimas, and for jumping off of things!

This film showcases HM Kamilah I's new aerial platform above Lionsgate. It is a truly stunning build, from its design to its implementation, and includes sections built for Her Majesty by other residents of Caledon. To be so honoured as to be even asked to contribute to one of her builds! Maybe one day, but I will have to become a lot more accomplished first!

As ever, I recommend watching the film with the small viewer setting toggled, as this gives a much better quality of resolution. Most of it was actually filmed in one take, including the jump, though I later took footage of further jumps to get shots from different angles. The music sort of fits, that is the part I am finding hardest at the moment, finding suitable soundtracks. Apologies for the length of the film, I appreciate that most machinimas are about 5 minutes or so long, but I did want to show the build off properly.

Whilst you are on my YouTube page, do look at the other films in the BASE Jump playlist, especially one made in WoW, it certainly made me smile!

A Gentlemen's Duel

An incredible animation I found on YouTube, that perhaps readers may not have seen yet. It is a brilliant short Steampunk film, funny, visually stunning, and the type of film I dream about making! Enjoy!

A New Link For Tanglewood

Crossing The Firth

I present my first public machinima, made to celebrate the reinstatement of the Tanglewood/ Port Caledon crossing. I do miss the old paddle wheel ferry, but this new craft is a wonder!

You can also access my play list of Caledon-related and other Steampunk machinima, many of which are made by Caledonians with much more expertise than I. Yet another example, if one were needed, of our Nation's creativity!

The short is a first attempt, so I ask the critics to be gentle! And I recommend setting the screen size in the viewer to small, for best resolution. I hope to embed my next offering, when I have learnt how to not throw out the formatting of this blog!

Tangleday!

Thursday saw the occasion of the first Anniversary Party for Tanglewood! Having spent a year living in the Wild Wood, Kacy and I wanted to mark the day in some way, so a party on board the Rakehell was the obvious thing to do!
We put in a larger floor across the belly of the beast, to facilitate dancing, and my highly talented wife strung some delicate lights throughout the ship in case SL night happened whilst the party was in full swing. I also made a gold and emerald pin for people to wear for the occasion, dispensed from a giant acorn above the dance floor.

We were lucky enough to engage Radio Riel to provide the music, with Her Grace Gabrielle Riel Duchess of Carntaigh acting as DJ and a Tiny Eladrienne Laval as the Host. It was fitting for Miss Laval to wear her Tiny av, as the theme for the dance was Woodland Creatures, it being for Tanglewood and all! Kacy looked gorgeous as a forest fae, complete with mutlicoloured wings, and I - well I just went as a Fur! For the Tinies that did attend there were special dance balls and a dance machine that fitted their diminutive dimensions. And Miss Laval laid out Tiny versions of the Birthday cake and Champagne too!

The party ran for two hours, and was very well attended, especially since SL was acting up, and we were thrilled to see our friends and neighbours, and people new to us, joining in our celebration for our home. Here's to the year ahead, and the next Tangleday!

Huzzah For The Wildwood!

Tanglewood is one year old today! The ancient oaks have seen many changes over the last twelvemonth - residents have come and gone, more sims have appeared around it, the ferry has gone and the train has arrived. I am now married to the most amazing woman ever, Kacy having accepted me as her husband in a ceremony above the treetops back in October. Yet still the oaks stand, weathering every change with calm assurance, a symbol of the longevity of our nation.

To celebrate this first year of the Wild Wood, a party is to be held aboard the Rakehell, our glass dirigible affording wonderful views across Tanglewood and beyond. The event takes place on Thursday 13th march, from 4-6pm SLT. Her Grace Gabrielle Riel Duchess of Carntaigh will be providing the music, and the theme for dress is Woodland Creatures - not unsurprisingly! - so if you have a Fae, Furry or Tiny av, this is a party to wear it to!

Happy Birthday Tanglewood, our wonderful woodland home!

[I was going to post some pictures with this post, having recently installed a new graphics card - thank you Chey, you are a star! - but Blogger wouldn't let me. So you will just have to visit Tanglewood for yourselves and see how it has evolved over the last year!]
